Save Time and Increase Your Following When You Learn to Batch Your Instagram Content

batch instagram content to help grow your following, brainstorm ideas for instagram

Batching is one of the most effective ways to create content. Why? Because when you batch Instagram content it helps you save time, reduce stress, and stay consistent, which we all struggle with at some point. Am I right??!

Sidenote 🥳 when it comes to Reels, my creative process looks a little bit different. I don’t batch record, but I DO prep for them – and that’s a post for another day.

For now, here are my top 5 ways to batch your Instagram content.

1. Brainstorm Your Ideas

Planning your IG content is a great way to reduce the stress that comes from unpreparedness. To say nothing, having a plan helps you stay organized, on-brand, and cohesive, without the overwhelm.

Furthermore, you’ll create more engaging content, which equals more followers and more revenue. 💰

First, grab your favorite notebook and pen or open up Google docs. Then start brainstorming any and all ideas that are swirling around in your head. Include:

  • topics you’re an expert in – (remember, you only need to know 10% more than your potential customer to be an expert)
  • things you’ve learned over the years
  • how-to tutorials
  • tips and tricks
  • and more

These ideas are for posts, carousels, stories, reels, and more.

Don’t try to organize them. Don’t overthink it. Get your thoughts out!

Second, write down important dates, including upcoming events, launches, campaigns, promotions, and holidays. This keeps your content relevant, and on track, and gives you a clear Instagram strategy.

And finally, batch your Instagram content using REPURPOSED CONTENT!!!

Think . . . blog posts, emails, podcasts, old captions, YouTube videos, past Instagram content, and so on. You DO NOT need to reinvent the wheel. Repurposing content is a great way to get more mileage out of the content you’ve already created. I find it helpful to have an ongoing list, with links, of all the content I’ve ever created because this makes finding past content simple and quick.

2. Create a Plan Using a Calendar

Once you have a list of content ideas, create a calendar to plan out when you would like to post each type of content.

Digital or hard copy? Monthly or weekly? Only you can determine what works best for you.

3. Focus on Your Visuals

Create on-brand graphics using Canva (it’s one of my top tools for design) and gather your photos and videos.

Taking photos and designing graphics is my jam. Nothing makes it easier than,

a) taking photos and videos with your Phone

b) using Canva to design all your digital graphics.

Shooting and editing photos using nothing but your phone is one of the smartest things you can do. Why? Because the majority of us have our phones with us 24/7, which means there’s no need for extra camera equipment. Use natural light when possible and a tripod to end the shakes.

As for Canva . . . there aren’t enough words to describe how amazing it is!

Canva is a free, easy-to-use app that allows you to create stunning visuals for your Instagram. In Canva, you can upload your own images, videos, brand colors, fonts, and logos. Then you can customize your designs with text, filters, frames, and more. Choose from a variety of templates to create the perfect graphic for your post.

4. Write All Your Captions as You Batch Your Instagram Content

Now that you have your calendar planned out and your visuals created, it’s time to start writing captions!

Below are a few general guidelines to get you started:

  • Write to one person
  • Break up your text – this makes it easier for viewers to read
  • Use a captivating headline
  • Add a CTA (call to action)
  • Use emojis to make important sections stand out

These simple steps will ensure that your posts provide clear value for your audience, as well as having them ready to post ahead of time!

5. Schedule All Your Non-Reels Content

Finally, schedule all your non-reels content. Scheduling your content in advance is a game-changer! It helps reduce overwhelm because it’s one less thing to think about!

My favorite platforms to do this on include Facebook Creator Studio or Planoly
